For the past two weeks it's been constant rain. Streets are flooded, parks are closed, trails are pure mud baths. It's made getting out and exercising very, very hard. It's also brought about a strong desire for hearty, warming foods, and hibernation techniques, apparently.
I know I've gained weight this week. I'm, in fact, so positive of this that I've refused to get on the scale to find out. The increase in the scale would only depress me further, and with all traces of sunshine in what seems like permanent retreat, that's not a pretty pairing. I've tried eating healthy this week to make up for the lack of exercise, but chicken salad just doesn't sound appealing when it's 45 degrees outside, and you're soaked to the bone.
I've also noticed that BF has a higher tendency to want to play video games when it's crappy outside. This sort of puts a pretty huge damper on getting on the Wii, considering we're sharing a tv for the gaming consoles, and it's hard to play WiiFit when you can't see the screen, and he's shooting people on Call of Duty.
I think I'm just going to scratch this whole week. Admit that it was an utter failure, that it happens, and get back on track again next week. We're getting ready to jump into the spring months with the warm weather and the free weekends, so hopefully hiking and rollerblading and other fun exercising stuff is around the corner.
